Step Brothers Retreat was formed after a group of recovering alcoholics had been to the Usual Suspects Retreat in Nashville, TN. These men were so moved by their experience they wanted to share it with their Brothers in recovery in the DC, MD & VA area. A committee was formed & the rest is history. Our first retreat was June 12-15 2015. Our inaugural retreat leaders were Scott L. from Nashville, TN & Joe C. from Palm Coast FL. These men opened their hearts in a way that led the way for the next 10 years & God willing many more to come.
We are not affiliated with any 12 step organization, however we use the Steps and Traditions to guide our retreat. Every year we begin the retreat by carrying the message into institutions the morning before we convene. Our retreat is limited to 70 men, our desire is to cultivate an intimate experience where we can grow in understanding & effectiveness.
Our hope is that you’ll leave our retreat with an overwhelming desire to share this with others. We are eager to share our model with you. Each year men's lives are changed by coming to Step Brothers, that is by design. We have been to dozens of retreats all over the country and borrowed from each one to create an atmosphere of transformation. As a result of what we do we have played a part in retreats being formed all over the country, Outright Mental Defectives in Oklahoma, Brothers in our Defects in Florida, Lost & Found in New York and Rule 62 in Tennessee, and more.
A special thank you to our retreat leaders:
